Door Number 1

When were you last awestruck?

When you couldn't help but be gobsmacked at the sheer scale of something?

Go to a place where there are objects or sights of great age, size or beauty - a forest, a tall building, a museum - pretend that you have never been here before or seen this before. Look on the place with fresh eyes. Let the wonder take over.

Marvel at the beauty of it. If it is a tree, take in the scale of the object, its age. the height and detail of the leaves and trunk. The jigsaw that is its bark.

Stare up that the building, imagine the scale of it, the height and vastness of its windows and width of its capacity.

Wonder at the flight of that aeroplane in the sky, how was this wondrous creation ever conceived of and made.

Think about how these things make YOU feel. Has time slowed down? Does it put your daily concerns into perspective?

There is awe all around us. Appreciate what is around you. This will give you benefits in your life, including increased life satisfaction and ability to appreciate what you have and a clearer view of what your goals are.
