Pots to Celebrate - Clay Cooking

It's not every day that you are asked to feature in a new cookery book. I was excited and very happy to oblige.

I'd bought my chicken cooker a couple of years ago at the Althorp Food and Drink Festival. The stall selling these, Balkan Pottery, housed a feast of unique, coloured clay pots and I couldn't resist them.

Having had many successful meals using the pot now, and, with building a cooking relationship with the owner, Felicity Mclachlan, the pot and I have come a long way. Felicity and I love to share our recipes and you can feel that she has a real love for her beautiful products and all you can cook in them.

With a host of celebrity chefs as fans, including Rosemary Shrager and Brian Turner, you can't go wrong. Along with the chicken cooker, Balkan Pottery is home to the Sach dish, Guvech and some lovely serving dishes and jugs. All pieces of art in their own right.

Felicity has ploughed vast amounts of time, into publishing her new cook book, 'Cooking with Balkan Pottery'.

As well as my Moroccan Style Chicken recipe, you will find an array of simple, yet beautifully tasting meals and accompaniments inside.

Chicken Basque, Jerk Chicken with Rice and Peas, Pork and Apple Sauce, Chinese Crispy Duck, are just a few of the tasty, varied meals here. You really do 'taste the world' on your trip around this book.

Felicity will be continuing her presence at the festivals this year, she will be promoting her new book, with my recipe, alongside her pots. if you would like to order from Balkan Pottery, please go to balkanpottery.com where you will find her wonderful products. Instagram @balkanpottery.

We will be speaking to Felicity about her book and business at length in a future blog, and I for one can't wait to find out the next chapter.
